Hello friends!
As a composer, most of us are submitting several works to Composition Contests. These contests can be great ways to get our music listened to by new people, expand our networks, and potentially win performance opportunities, new recordings, and so much more.
Recently, I had submitted one of my works, Warming Up for unaccompanied solo viola, to the Northern California Viola Society International Composition Contest. The winner would have their piece be used as a competition piece for the Northern California Viola Society Concerto Competition, along with a small cash prize. While I did not win the Composition Contest, I am excited to announce I was one of 6 finalists in a large pool of over 80 submissions from all around the world!
The opportunity to share this stage with wonderful composers from across the world with an expertise in Viola music is one I will cherish! Music Composition has always been quite the journey for me, but seeing positive progress is always something that I will appreciate and hold on to!
For 2024, be ready to see even more musical accomplishments, performances of my work, and a journey for the ages on the 2024 Drum Corps International Tour.
